Association Structure

Because democratic and widely supported decision-making is very important within an association, the NWPCS has a tiered structure that allows decisions to be made in a well-considered manner and also allows members to be closely involved.
Member Council

The member council is the highest body within the studbook and has thirteen members, delegated by the departments. The member council meets two to three times a year, during these meetings the final decisions are made on all kinds of policy matters.
Members can address their questions or opinions about policy issues to the member council members and departmental boards. In this way, they can make their influence felt at member council meetings.

The board

* President
* Secretary
* Treasurer
* Board member of breeding affairs NWR/WPBR
* Board member of Breeding Affairs Breeding Board.

The board outlines the policy of the studbook in the areas of registration, organization, regulations, breeding and PR, and submits policy proposals to the membership council. In addition, the board is responsible for proper implementation of member council decisions and monitors the handling of day-to-day affairs.

The committees

The board can appeal to various committees,such as the breeding committee, the riding committee, editorial committee and the public relations committee, and be advised by them. There is also a disciplinary committee and an appeals committee.

* Breeding technical committee
The Breeding Technical Committee advises the board on the breeding policy, the composition of the jury corps and reports on the state of implementation of the breeding policy. Per section, the breeding committee is represented by 2 persons: section A, B, C/D and NWR/Welsh partbred.
* Driving committee
The riding committee advises the board on promoting the use of the ponies and prepares competitions and other activities in support thereof and ensures the implementation of these activities.
* Editorial committee
The editorial committee advises the board on internal communication within the association and provides it through information through the association organ.
* PR committee
The PR committee advises the board on PR policy, compiles PR materials and organizes PR activities. The committee consists of delegates from the 4 departments.
* Disciplinary Committee
The Disciplinary Committee shall have the power, after the Board has referred a matter to the Committee, to reprimand or fine members and honorary members who have violated the Bylaws and/or Regulations.
* Appeals Committee
Any penalty imposed by the disciplinary committee may be appealed to the Appeals Committee.

The departments

The studbook is divided into three departments: north, middle, south, all of which help develop and implement national policy. Each department has a department board elected by the members of that department. During the spring and fall meetings, various regional topics are discussed, but there is also extensive discussion with members on policy issues.

The studbook office

This is actually the administration office of the NWPCS and is located at the office of The Studbook Office. The studbook office ensures that the agreements, made between members council and main board regarding the registration of ponies and other administrative actions are handled according to the rules established by the members council. All this is done under the responsibility of and in coordination with the board. [email protected]
