Regional/Central Inspection

Regional Inspection
At a Regional Inspection, conformation and movement are considered and ponies are placed in order of quality. At the Regional Inspection, 1st, 2nd and 3rd premiums are awarded. These premiums are an indication of quality. The better ponies can be nominated for the Central Inspection and 3-year old and older ponies can obtain the predicate ster, keur or crown.
Each year, five regional judging events are held throughout the country. The inspections are held in July and August.
Registration
The entry is completely digital via MijnWelsh. For questions or for assistance, please contact the studbook secretariat: phone (Mon, Wed and Fri 09.00-12.30) 06-82459273 or by email.
Central Inspection
Once a year, the Central Inspection is held at which all ponies, which have been designated for this purpose by the judges during the regional inspections in hand and for the riding and harness sections, will compete with each other for the highest honor.
When a pony is entered and referred into the studbook at the regional inspection, they can be awarded the predicate ster, keur or crown at the Central Inspection. The ster predicate can be obtained from the age of three. Star mares must have a foal at foot at the time of judging or have had a registered foal in a previous year. If a foal was previously registered with another studbook, the owner must prove this himself. For the crown predicate, a (keur) mare must have passed the NWPCS IBOP ability test, than
did obtain the sport predicate. The aptitude test consists of a riding test or a harnessed
trial in singles.
Registration
Direct entry for the Central Inspection is not possible, there is an exception for the following classes:
* Single span studbook stallions
* Four-horse race for ponies aged 3 and older, subject to sufficient participation (at least 3)
* Best going studbook stallions under saddle, large and small size.
Ponies designated to participate in the Central Inspection are automatically entered in the catalog of this inspection. Except for the cost of a catalog, no entry fee is due for participation.
