IBOP
Individual Usability Examination Pony
If your pony was appointed for the ‘KEUR’ predicate at the Central Inspection, then this can be converted to the ‘KROON’ predicate if at least a B premium is achieved in the driving or riding test of the IBOP. The tests and conditions can be requested from the studbook office or downloaded below, however, if you register your pony you will automatically receive the conditions and tests.

What is an IBOP?
The IBOP is a talent test for the (younger) pony. By means of a simple test, the pony's aptitude for the sport is tested. A pony can take the IBOP under saddle or in harness. If it is chosen to have the pony participate under saddle, it must show a dressage test and jump a number of obstacles. This obstacle test consists of two lines that must both be jumped.
If the pony is presented in the driving test, then both a driving test and a skill test are required. The skill test is a course with ten compulsory passages, nine with cones, one of which is made up of obstacles.
Driving test
In the riding test, the judges judge the pony on her gaits: walk, trot and canter. Furthermore, the pony will get marks for her posture, suppleness, impulsion and will be judged for her carefulness and attitude when jumping. The marks for ability as a dressage pony and for ability as a show jumper both count once for the final result. A maximum of 100 points can be obtained; a mare passes with 70 points.
Trained trial
In the halted test, the pony is judged on walk, trot, canter, attitude, willingness to work, agility and ability as a halted pony. The marks for walk, trot and canter count double. In total, a maximum of 100 points can be obtained and again the pony passed with 70 points.
Participation
Of course, all ponies, not only those designated for the ‘KEUR’ predicate, can participate. The minimum age of the ponies is 3 years from October 1 for participation in both the riding and the harnessed test.
Preparing for the IBOP
Many times, the pony is leashed for an occasion such as an IBOP and/or just prepared by then. Then it is certainly no mean feat to take a test in a strange environment. It is therefore advisable to start training in good time and get the pony used to riding in an indoor arena. In addition, if the pony is going to take the riding test, it is necessary to have jumped a practice course a few times, preferably in an indoor arena.
Jump
Maximum height and width of obstacles.
Horse size up to 1.17m - Height 40 cm - Width 40 cm
Stall size 1.17 m - 1.27 m - Height 50 cm - Width 50 cm
Stoke size 1.27 m - 1.37 m - Height 60 cm - Width 60 cm
Stall size 1.37 m - 1.48 m - Height 70 cm - Width 70 cm
Stoke size 1.49 m - 1.57 m - Height 80 cm - Width 80 cm
The owner of the pony, when registering to participate in the IBOP, may request that the obstacles be
20 cm to be raised and widened. A request once submitted cannot be reversed.
The obstacles must be jumped in the order indicated without riding voltes between them.
Quality Class
Based on the results, the pony is classified into the quality classes
AA When the total number of points is 82 and at least an 8 is obtained for aptitude
A When the total number of points is 80 and at least a 7 is obtained for aptitude
B When the total number of points is 70 and at least a 6.5 is obtained for aptitude
C When the total number of points is 60 and at least a 6 is obtained for aptitude
No classification in a quality class follows if the above under AA, A, B or
C requirements or if the test was not completed in full.
‘KEUR’ mares can achieve the ‘KROON’ predicate if they achieve at least a B premium.
