Use sections

From 2019 it will be possible to participate in the new format of the use sections. At the Central Inspection it is then also possible to participate in the use section championships. On this page you can find all the protocols of the different sections.

Target

One of the objectives of the use sections is to give youth interested in working with ponies the opportunity to do so through the young handler sections, the riding sections and the driving sections. In this way, we hope to encourage the new generation to participate in the judging, so that they can gain experience and learn to handle ponies in a relatively safe environment. Attention will be paid to handling the pony in all classes, the way of presenting, riding or driving and management and clothing. But we also want to give the (young) adults the opportunity to show our beautiful breed also in the use classes. By holding the conformation inspection and the user sections at one inspection, we hope to bring together breeders, users and enthusiasts and show how versatile “our Welsh” pony is.

Championships

Participants from the various classes compete for various championships.

Mini Championship

From the first and second placers from the Leading Rein, First Ridden and Young Procurers sections, the Mini and Reserve Mini Champion will be chosen.

The champion of the riding sections will be chosen from the first and second placed entries of the sections below:

Protocol Driving section

General Champion Use Sections

Competing for the General Championship and Reserve General Championship Use Sections are the Mini Champion and Reserve Mini Champion, the Trained Champion and Reserve Trained Champion, and the Champion Driving Sections and the Reserve Champion Driving Sections.

Youth Membership

All Welsh youth from 6 to 17 years of age, whose parents are not members of the Welsh Pony and Cob Studbook, have the opportunity to become youth members. This is also possible if your parents are already members, but you want to participate in the use classes with your own pony in your own name. With this youth membership you can put one pony in your name and enter it in various use classes, provided the pony is registered with the NWPCS.
