South Department

November 21, 2023

Berkel-Enschot, On Friday, November 17, the South Chapter’s fall meeting was held at Hotel Restaurant De Druiventros.

The meeting was well attended, and the atmosphere was positive. Kitty Jonker and Emmalie van Welie walked the members through the various agenda items, and certificates were also awarded to the certified ponies.

The main item on the agenda was the future of the department, as both Kitty Jonker and Emmalie van Welie were stepping down as board members. During the meeting, both women were warmly thanked for all their hard work over the past few years, and they were presented with a round of applause and a beautiful bouquet of flowers.

At the previous special members’ meeting, a committee was formed to reach out to the chapter’s members and encourage them to help reinstate a full board. Only a small group of members responded to the questionnaire, which was sent out digitally, and no new board members were identified through this process.

The working group provided feedback to the Executive Board, and our chairperson elaborated on this further following the resignation of the most recent board members. The Executive Board will therefore present the current situation to the Members’ Council so that we can collectively consider the future.

For members of the South Chapter, nothing is changing at this time; they will be kept informed as usual, and there are still two representatives from the chapter serving on the Members' Council.
