Report and Minutes of the Members' Council Meeting on November 8, 2019
LANGVENNEN NA AMAU
On Friday, November 8, the Members' Council held a meeting.
During the closed session, the temporary suspension of an association official was discussed. By imposing the suspension—which had previously been unanimously approved by the Members’ Council—the Council sought to compel the official in question to engage in discussions with the board of a branch, including regarding the details and rationale behind a number of transactions that had been carried out.
The official had repeatedly declined a previous invitation to this meeting. In October, the meeting finally took place, and the requested clarification was provided. For the Members’ Council, the matter was thereby settled, and the suspension could be lifted.
Appointments
A number of jury members were also appointed, namely: Mascha Reijs, Marjolein van de Bosch, and Berry Bakker.
Astrid de Vocht, Trudi Houwen, Elbert Koelewijn, Ad Beekman, Yvette Zoet, and Dick Hols were appointed to the Riding Technique Committee (RTC) for the practical categories. The Members’ Council wishes them all the best in carrying out their duties.
Herd Book Regulations
After the closed session, the meeting continued with the open session. There were no speakers.
Furthermore, due to a change in the parent stud book, a minor amendment had to be made to the stud book regulations.
A provision was added to the regulations stating that crossbreeding between Section B and Section D is permitted and that every ‘maiden mare’ will undergo DNA testing. A minor amendment was also made to the inspection regulations regarding the required veterinary certificates (VC1 and VC2).
Draft breeding plan
The draft breeding plan was still under consideration by the Members’ Council. Valuable suggestions have been received from various sources (including the judging panel, the Welsh B Club, and the regional meetings), and the Members’ Council felt it was important to incorporate some of these suggestions into the document. The Executive Board will take on this task.
The 2020 budget was approved. Regarding the proposed 2020 rates, the Members“ Council reduced the rate for ”registration of a foal/pony without NWPCS papers.” The original proposal was 38 euros including VAT, but this was adjusted to 20 euros including VAT.
The idea of a livestream during the stallion inspection was also welcomed by the Members’ Council, but priority was given to the above proposal, which promotes the participation of animals not registered with the NWPCS in our studbook’s activities.
Stallion Licensing
Furthermore, the Members' Council approved a provision allowing licensed stallions to be included in the basic stud book going forward.
