Welsh ponies in harness at the Ascension competition in Grootegast

Back from the road, for those Welsh enthusiasts who have been around a bit longer may remember it. Large harness classes of Welsh ponies at all kinds of different large horse events. To pick up this tradition again there was a Welsh harness pony class at the Ascension show in Grootegast.

Participating in this class were Davy Wormgoor with Amity's Ocean King (by Maestrir Odyssey), Henk Roel Krol with Potteries Simon (by Lacy Jaffa) and Niena van Linschoten with Amy Queen Bee (by Three-B Tywysog)

To loud applause from the audience, they competed for victory. The organization was very excited to have this fun varied class added to the show. The victory went to Potteries Simon, followed by Amity's Ocean King and then Amy Queen Bee.

The latter has only been gelded for a few weeks and this was their very first appearance on strange terrain. Niena responds “a nice competition, and super good experience for me and Amy, of course I can't compete against those two greats, but would recommend it to more people to join such a nice Welsh class once. I really enjoyed it.”

A wonderful day with lots of fun and beautiful horse racing.

Do you think this is something I also like or want to try. You can, next June 9 there is also a Welsh harness section at the CC Diever. You can subscribe through Emma van der Burg
