Use sections
There are separate English-style use sections for the youth, from which the judges select their final ‘Mini Performance Champion. These use sections, which are judged by Mrs. Margaret Edwards, Nefydd stud (UK) and Mrs. Ylva Lindh, Simberg stud (SWE), include the Young Handlers, Leading Rein and First Ridden sections.
The Young Handlers classes will be divided into two age categories. A category from 6 to 11 years old and a category from 12 to 17 years old.
To participate in Leading Rein, there is a minimum age of 3 years.
Children may participate up to age 8. It is heading for the very youngest children under saddle. Children who can walk and trot a little with their pony, but cannot yet ride on their own. The person next to the combination guides the combination via an additional lead rein which is held in the left hand and attached to the pony's noseband. The suitability as a child pony is highly considered in the assessment. In addition to the appearance of the pony, the active participation of the rider is also considered. A maximum age of 11 years applies in the First Ridden section. During the First Ridden class only walk and trot will be shown in the group, in the individual round galloping is allowed. Special Junior Ridden sections are available for 12 years and older riders/amazons.
