Blue Dyfa's Jaimy CHK

Times are changing. Looking at the list of new entries, a number of
cases on
.
1) All but one of the stallions are three-year-olds
2) All stallions were born in continental Europe.
3) 14 of the 24 stallions have a sire who is a studbook stallion.
4) 6 stallions have sired half of the supply. All 6 of these stallions are studbook stallions.

To understand this properly, two drastic things happened: as of Jan. 1, 2021, the threshold to import from the mother country became significantly higher due to Brexit. Hence probably the reduced imports.
Furthermore, the world was in the grip of Covid-19 in 2020, so fewer mares were covered that year as well (and the 2021 vintage was somewhat smaller). Then it is remarkable that we still have a number above 20 again.

24 stallions, this year all 24 from the sire line of Coed Coch Glyndwr, of which 21 of the 24 come via Coed Coch Madog. Of these, 9 of the 24 are through Revel Jeeves, 1 of which is through Pendock Legend and 7 of which are through Penual Mark. The line of Nantdywyll Barcud Ap Bargen is a high contributor with 5 progeny in sire line. 3 stallions are from the Blackhill Picalo line.

There are 6 stallions that have produced two sons. The stallions come from 16 different mare lines. The largest supplier is the Brunslow line of Coed Coch Sirius, Revel Hey Lady and Revel Hibiscus. The second largest is the Springbourne C line of Belvoir Columbine. Then 2 stallions from the Betty of Plowden line (Snowdon) by Hendre Pwsi and 2 stallions from the Cnewr Starlight line (Boreas).
