The studbook office, let me introduce
From January 1, the studbook affairs for the Welsh studbook will be arranged by ‘Het Stamboekkantoor” in Heteren. Marjolein Meerburg-Neuteboom is the driving force behind this. Many people within our studbook know her, not only from her own Welsh breeding, but also as former secretary of the Department Midden. She is also active as a volunteer in a study of the NWR population.
Marjolein Neuteboom
Marjolein studied Animal Science in Wageningen and then worked, among other things, at the representation of the European breeding industry, at the Foundation for Rare Breeds of Domestic Animals and at the Center for Genetic Resources, where she was project leader of the animal gene bank and advisor to various studbooks.
Marjolein: “I am very motivated to use all my gained knowledge and experience for the Welsh studbook. Great strides have already been made in modernization; we are committed to rolling this out further. By setting up the registration and administration as efficiently as possible, we can further improve the service to the members and keep the costs under control. Through my experience within the studbook, I also know better than anyone how important the cooperation with the many volunteers is. Also there we will support where possible. We are now busy with all the preparations, so that from January we are ready for the members. I am looking forward to it and especially to the Stallion Show where we will be manning the secretariat.”
Marlies Beekhuizen
Besides Marjolein, Marlies Beekhuizen will be active for the Studbook Office. Marlies has a background in Marketing and Communications and has been in charge of secretarial tasks at various commercial companies for the past 20 years, both as manager and executive. At the NWPCS she is a completely new face; she herself owns an NSPS mare and KWPN gelding with which she is active in driving. However, the Welsh ponies are not unknown to her, as she can be found very regularly at Marjolein's stables to drive the Welsh ponies.
Marlies: “I am enormously looking forward to helping the members of the Welsh studbook from January with a wide variety of questions and supporting Marjolein in future-proofing the service. I look forward to meeting members via email, phone or in person!”
