Leuns Veld's Zandro
Submitted piece
The 13-year-old NWR studbook stallion Leuns Veld’s Zandro is back in the Netherlands. The studbook stallion, bred by the late Toon Peeters, was sold to Germany in 2021 and was also approved that same year by the German horse and pony studbook Weser Ems. He is now back on Dutch soil and registered with Vanda Stud in Harderwijk.
As a foal, Zandro was the national champion, and as a three-year-old, he was approved by the NWPCS. He was praised for his beautiful conformation, good front end, and his sound legs and movement. Leuns Veld’s Zandro had a successful performance, including an 8.5 for his canter and an 8 for his potential as a dressage pony. The stallion is available for breeding at JK Stables, Gestüt Reitland, and Gestüt Meyer. Among others, Zandro sired the “Keur” mare Sonja at the NWPCS.
The bay Zandro is a son of the highly successful elite, performance, and sport stallion Heitrak’s Marvin and the “keur” and “preferente” champion mare Leuns Veld’s Sabine. Sabine is also the dam of, among others, the approved stallions Leuns Veld’s Xanthos and Leuns Veld’s Winston Jr.
Leuns Veld’s Zandro will be making a career change and will be used in sports.
