At the third selection of the Dutch Pony Championship in Mortel, the first prizes went to the 4- and 5-year-old Welsh ponies.
In the 4-year-olds, the first prize went to Amalia's Marcus.
- 1 Marjolein Ebbers with the studbook stallion Amalia's Marcus scored 88 points.
The four-year-olds kicked off. Marjolein Ebbers with the striking fall stallion Amalia's Marcus posted the best result. She received only 8.5s and 9s, bringing her total to 88 points. “This pony already walked his rounds very easily,” commented judge Lars op ’t Hoog, who together with Karin Retera judged the ponies in De Mortel. “For example, he showed that he can already switch gears very well.”
Five-year-olds
In the 5-year-olds, the numbers one two and three were Welsh ponies.
- 1 Rubi van Huijgevoort with the gelding Roosdoncken's Ferro earned 83.5 points.
- 2 Nina Reulink with the gelding Howie van de Piekestable scored 78.5 points.
- 3 Eva Sloof with the gelding Spoorzicht's Jagemeister scored 73.5 points.
The walk was the deciding factor in the five-year-old ponies. For the number one, Rubi van Huijgevoort with Roosdoncken's Ferro, it earned a 9. Together with the 8s and 8.5s for the other components, Ferro's total came to 83.5 points. “A very nice pony with a beautiful model,” Lars praised. Five points less was for number two, Nina Reulink with Howie van de Piekestable. Two times a 7.5 and further all 8s brought Howie to a nice score of 78.5 and a second place.
Six-year-olds
In the 6-year-olds, there was a second place finish.
- 2 Levi Heusinkveld with the gelding Tjiesto L.H earned 83.5 points.
Last year's overall champion Tjiësto had to settle for 83.5 points and spot two this time.
