At the second selection of the Dutch Pony Championship in Vorden, there were two wins for a Welsh pony.

In the 4-year-olds, third prize went to C pony Beau Rêv.

  • 3 Daphne Bouwmeester with her mare Beau Rêv scored 69 points.

Five-year-olds

In the 5-year-olds, the prizes went to the numbers one and three.

  • 1 Ize Herwers with the studbook stallion Coco scored 86.5 points.
  • 3 Jonne Liefhebber with the mare Amalia's Sloofke scored 77.5 points.

In the five-year-olds it was an ‘old friend’ who won the class. Ize Herwers again presented the NWPCS-approved stallion Coco nicely, which was rewarded with a 9 for general impression. After finishing second during the first selection in Heerewaarden, she now took the victory with 86.5 points. With that, she also collected the highest points of the day. “Coco was really super for each other. Very consistent in the bridle, easy to ride, lots of carrying. For a young stallion he was very pleasant and well behaved in such an entourage. It is a very nice complete pony to see. What also stood out was how professionally he was presented. They are children after all and Ize did that incredibly well.” Third place was for Jonne Liefhebber with her NWPCS mare Amalia's Sloofke, who also won third place during the first selection.

Six-year-olds

In the 6-year-olds, there were wins for the number one and two.

  • 1 Levi Heusinkveld with the gelding Tjiesto L.H earned 80 points.
  • 2 Levi Heusinkveld with the gelding Spoorzicht Jaguar scored 77.5 points.

Levi Heusinkveld had two irons in the fire in the six-year-old ponies and was able to return home loaded with prizes. With the sympathetic Tjiesto L.H., a son of Nia Domo's Bolero, Levi collected 80 points and was placed first. The combination won last year's final in the five-year-old dressage ponies and started their selection process for the DPC well with this result. “Levi presented both ponies very professionally. She has a fantastic attitude and seat, it must be said. She is really a talent to watch. That then has a positive effect on the pony, which gave a very complete and consistent image,” Buiten explained. “For the six-year-old class, the exercises could perhaps have been confirmed a little better. In terms of level, Tjiesto was also the best confirmed in that.” With her other trump card, Spoorzicht's Jaguar, Levi was allowed to place second.
