Willard Leeuwis Receives Breeders Award at WPCS Meeting

Earlier this month, at the annual general meeting (AGM) of the Welsh Pony and Cob Society (WPCS) held at the Llandrindod Wells Pavilion in Mid Wales, Willard Leeuwis received a Breeders Award presented by WPCS Chairman Dennis Price.

For the first time, eleven breeders were honored at the AGM for their breeding stock that won overall championships at the Royal Welsh in the A, B, C, and D sections (ridden and in hand), as well as in the Welsh driven and WPBR sections. One of these new awards went to Willard Leeuwis as the breeder of Deweyerds Hailey, the 2022 Royal Welsh Champion Welsh Mountain Pony.

Willard, his wife Jacorine, and their daughter Maud accepted the award. Deweyerds Hailey was presented by Lowri Reed at the Royal Welsh 2022.
