Sports ponies in the spotlight

This is the first edition of ‘Sports Ponies in the Spotlights’ of 2023. Recently, the sport predicate has been applied for and awarded to Meedenblik's Paloma, Bridge, Orchard Jus de Pommes, Pippin's Playboy A.T., Passion's Pretty Perfect A.T., Mister Silvester and the Studbook stallions Oosting Alexander, Spoorzicht's Red Flyer and Nia Domo's Bolero.

Oosting Alexander has met the requirements for the predicate sport through his performance in Z1 (+4) dressage.

We bought Oosting Alexander in March 2021. At that time he had started L dressage and had no experience in jumping. Together we started in L1 with success, we were allowed to go to the Brabant championships. There we achieved a 2nd place and were delegated to the Dutch championships. Here also a nice test could put down that was rewarded with a 3rd place. With the championships behind us we started in the L2. We quickly finished these classes and then immediately continued in the M1. We were also allowed to show ourselves in this class at the championships in Brabant, resulting in a 4th place and delegated to the Dutch championships. There we achieved a 15th place in a strong field of competitors. After leaving these championships behind us, we went on to the M2. We quickly finished this class so we could start in Z1 and gain a lot of experience. Until now we have gained 4 points in Z1. Parallel to dressage, we also started jumping. In the class 90 cm we were delegated to the Brabant championships and achieved a 26th place. Currently we started in the 1.00 m class. Oosting Alexander is an eager to learn pony with a very sweet character! Alex is trained and ridden by Myrne Lutters.

Nia Domo's Bolero has met the requirements for the predicate sport through his performance in M2 (+10) dressage.

This black pearl already held the predicates preferent and prestatie, but thanks to his own achievements he may now also add the sport predicate to his titles. At the end of September, this beautiful stallion came into training with the 14-year-old Claire Vermaes. Claire, herself a big fan of this stallion, rides successfully with three of his offspring bred by the Dempsy stable. It was really a big dream for her to also be able to train and bring out the father of her ponies. In recent years Bolero was only active as a breeding stallion, it says a lot about his character that he easily made the switch from breeding stallion to sport pony. Within 5 competitions, which he also won all 5 (m2 DE), he collected the necessary victory points for the sport predicate. In addition, he became a regional champion and was selected for the Brabant championships. Claire hopes to score well with him at the ‘Brabantse’ and be delegated to the Dutch championships. The plan is, before he gets involved with the mares again, to get one more Z profit point. And then... it's up to his offspring..... Research has shown that 25 of his offspring are already competing at M or higher. So it is only a matter of time before this black beauty can also add the Elite predicate to his gallery of honor!
