Studbook stallions Nijebert’s Marc and Nacho sold to Australia
Marc Nijebert with Emmy de Jeu and Robyn Todd
The NWR Studbook stallion Nijebert’s Marc and the recently approved Welsh Partbred stallion Nacho have been sold to Australian dressage rider Robyn Todd. In Australia, the Studbook stallions will embark on a competitive career.
The sale was facilitated by dressage horse breeder Emmy de Jeu, who, together with Todd, attended the KWPN stallion inspection, the recent Central Welsh stallion inspection, and, a few days later, Ebbers Excellence in Horses, among other events.
Nijebert's Marc
Nijebert’s Marc (by Heidehof’s Dylano) was born in 2017 to the star mare Zerona (by Orchard Red Prince). The breeder of this bay pony is L.J. Mellema. As a dressage pony, he has already won many awards, including a silver medal in the Divoza Cup final, and in 2020 he became both the Limburg and National L1 dressage champion with Veerle van Hof.
His son, Amalia’s Marcus, was registered as a studbook stallion last year and is standing at stud at Ebbers. Elmohoeve’s Bonfire (by Nijebert’s Marc) is a designated stallion and was sold to Rodinde Rutjens last month.
This year, Marc’s son, Vlagberg’s Rocky Mountain, was selected for the performance test. His son, Roosdonckens Mauro, will be entering the follow-up inspection. “And I still have two of his young sons in training for next year,” said Ebbers.
Nacho
The Welsh Partbred chestnut stallion Nacho (by FS Numero Uno) was bred by Henk Ebbers out of the FEI dressage pony Chardonnay, registered with the Welsh Stud Book as Amedijk’s Artemis (Bodo x Leuns Veld’s Elegant). At the recent Central Stallion Inspection, Nacho was registered as a Studbook stallion. He had previously earned his breeding license in Germany. “Nacho performed like a champ at the stallion inspection. There was a lot of interest in him. Coincidentally, Nacho’s older brother is already serving as a stud stallion in Australia—Cassanova, a son of Cosmopoliton D who was approved in Germany.”
In addition to Amalia’s Joep and Amalia’s Marcus, this year’s NWR-designated stallions at Ebbers include Amalia’s Shadow (by Anjershof Shadok), Zelders Cosmo (by Leuns Veld’s Lord), and Vlagberg’s Rocky Mountain (by Nijebert’s Marc) are available for breeding.
