Vennebos Pearly King Wins Class at HOYS

Vennebos Pearly King, bred by Rhodé van Praat, won the first edition of the ‘Mountain & Moorland Junior 122cm Working Hunter Pony of the Year’ class at the Horse of the Year Show (HOYS). The 17-year-old Welsh Mountain pony, owned by Sadie Osborne, was ridden by 10-year-old Lola Carabine.

Rhodé van Praat bred the gray son of Heniarth Quinnell out of the Crown-winning, Preferent-class mare Nerwyn Pannwl (by Nerwyn Cadno). “Very few Dutch-bred ponies win at this prestigious event. I’m truly proud,” said Rhodé van Praat. “It feels like winning the lottery, and I thank the team for all the work they put into it.”
