Hippiad 2022: In all pony categories B dressage, a Welsh wins

On Tuesday, August 16, 2022, the Hippiade started with the B dressage ponies, among others. All categories (A/B, C and D/E) were won by a Welsh registered with the NWPCS.

In addition, two more Welsh ponies earned medals.

Dressage class B cat. D/E

1. Moenza Schepers with Beukenoord's Ariana (NWR, Westerhuis Cupido x Hagelkruis Valentijn), 72.33%
3. Sophie Sassen with Amalia's Pieter (NWR Studbook Stallion, Vlagberg's Bowden x Leuns Field's Lord), 71.66%

With a beautiful score of 72.333, Moenza Schepers from the region of North Brabant could not escape winning the class B cat D/E sponsored by Witte van Moort. She rode her only four-year-old Welsh pony Beukenoord's Ariana convincingly to the gold. “I had absolutely no expectations beforehand because it was only our seventh competition together, but she was very relaxed in the test. Our goal was to ride an erect and active class and we definitely succeeded today,” the 14-year-old rider told Medalplaza after the award ceremony. (Source: KNHS)

Dressage class B cat. C

1. Nicky ten Wolde with Bekveld Daphne (Section B, Breeton Dai x Linde Hoeve's Sebastiaan), 71.556%

The roof went off at the Medalplaza of the Hippiade in Ermelo. Ten-year-old Nicky Tenwolde was the first to enter the podium at Medalplaza for the awards ceremony. With her eight-year-old pony Bekveld Daphne, she won the dressage class B cat. C sponsored by Witte van Moort. Nicky proudly said after the award ceremony, “I think it is very cool to be here. It actually went really well and I also had a good feeling about my test.” (Source: KNHS)

Dressage class B cat. AB

1. Iris van Helvert with Diëgo de Almagro (Section C, Honey Bee's Joliver x Churchwood President), 68.278%
2. Sherise Slendebroek with Goldsberg's Chilayne (Section A, Ceulan Ciariadog x Vechtzicht's Cymro Bach), 68.000%

Less than a week ago, eight-year-old Iris van Helvert could already be found at the National Equestrian Center in Ermelo with her pony Diego de Almagro; beautifully dressed up as an Indian at the Bixie Day. Today she had another radiant outfit on, a dressage outfit adorned by a championship ribbon which she won in the class B cat. AB Sponsored by Witte van Moort. The only eight-year-old Iris says happily: It went super well! We don't only ride dressage, but we also like jumping, cross country and bixie competitions. What do I like most? Actually everything!
