During the Inspection Day, the pony’s conformation and movement are evaluated, and it is awarded a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd premium. These premiums indicate the pony’s quality. The better ponies aged 3 years and older (that are registered in the studbook) may be eligible for the “ster,” “keur,” and “kroon” designations during the inspection and do not need to be referred to the Central Inspection for this purpose. On Inspection Day, ponies are not ranked, and there are no
championships.

At a Regional Inspection, conformation and movement are considered and ponies are placed in order of quality. At the Regional Inspection, 1st, 2nd and 3rd premiums are awarded. These premiums are an indication of quality. The better ponies can be nominated for the Central Inspection and 3-year old and older ponies can obtain the predicate ster, keur or crown.
