Warmtebron's Didgeridoo

The Section B colt Warmtebron’s Didgeridoo (by Warmtebron’s King Bhumiboll), out of the crown mare Warmtebron’s Mona Lisa, not only kicks off the foaling season at Stal Warmtebron, but is also the first at the NWPCS registered foal from 2022.

“The birth went really well,” says Tineke van der Weerd, who, together with her husband Henk, is the breeder of the foal that was born on the morning after the stallion inspection, on February 13, 2022. “At 6:30 in the morning, I looked at the camera and saw the little legs already coming out. I couldn’t get there fast enough because by the time I reached the stable, the foal was already out. Within an hour, he was standing and nursing. A textbook birth.’

Regarding the choice of stallion, Tineke says: “We wanted to have his sire, Warmtebron’s King Bhumiboll, gelded last year after the CHK because he was going to enter the sport. And since Mona Lisa also had an early foal last year, she was able to be bred to this stallion just in time.”

Sound of a horn

The name Didgeridoo comes from a musical instrument called the didgeridoo, a type of horn. That horn produces a beautiful sound. We’re expecting seven foals this year, and this foal heralds the start of the foaling season with the sound of its horn.

Anniversary Show

On June 11, 2022, in Oldebroek, the International Anniversary Show from the Welsh B Club. “We definitely plan to bring Didgeridoo, along with his mother, Warmtebron’s Mona Lisa, to the Welsh B anniversary show.”
