Anette Poot was beaming as she stood along the ring at the Inspection Day in Putten. Her pride and joy, Phanette’s Precious Vajèn (by Rotherdale Herald), was awarded the “Ster” designation. “It was very exciting. We’d had mares awarded ‘ster’ status before, but for various reasons, we’d always just missed the mark with a horse we’d bred ourselves. With Vajèn, we finally succeeded, and I even shed a tear or two. She showed herself off even better outside the ring. In the ring, Vajèn was a little overwhelmed.”
Anette and her husband Philip bought Vajèn’s mother, Ysselvliedt’s Hello Precious (by Colne Taboo), in 2013 when she was a three-year-old mare. “Unfortunately, we had to put Precious to sleep last year. Vajèn is the only one we kept from her. I really like her conformation. Plus, her temperament is exactly like her mother’s. She’s truly the apple of my eye, and she’s staying.”
The full interview with Anette Poot appears in Welsh Pony & Cob Magazine, Issue 3-2021, which will be delivered to subscribers this week. This issue focuses in particular on the inspection in Putten and the inspections in Sevenum, Heteren, and Tolbert.
