Anja Rozema quits as editor-in-chief

May 6, 2021

Anja Rozema is stepping down after four years as editor-in-chief of the cross media platform of the Welsh Studbook (NWPCS). She does, however, continue to write stories for the Welsh Pony & Cob Magazine about her passion: the Welsh ponies.

Before Rozema became editor-in-chief of the Welsh Pony & Cob Magazine, she was editor-in-chief of the independent Welsh Pony & Cob Bulletin. This Bulletin and the NWPCS' Welsh Magazine were merged into the Welsh Pony & Cob Magazine four years ago.

Final word

In her closing words, also the foreword to the latest edition of the Welsh Pony & Cob Magazine, Rozema says: “As editor-in-chief of an independent magazine, I was used to a great deal of freedom for many years, but within a studbook it is different. Working at the behest of a board, which in turn must answer to its members, brings with it certain restrictions on freedom. Restrictions that do not suit me very well, with the result that I have decided to resign my position. A difficult decision, but sometimes things turn out that way.”

NWPCS president Piet Peters responded to the closing remarks: “Anja, you have clearly justified in this closing speech why you made this choice. Over the past four years you have put a lot of energy into the cross medial concept. On behalf of the members, I can tell you that this has resulted in a beautiful result, of which we can all be proud.”

Full closing remarks by Anja Rozema and Chairman Piet Peters' response can be read in Welsh Pony & Cob Magazine issue 2, May 2021 - volume 18
