Brexit: update registration of animals with UK passports
Brexit
Publish list of breeding bodies in the United Kingdom
A few weeks ago, we The message from RFO published on any problems with the registration in a European studbook of UK-registered ponies. Negotiations between the EU and the United Kingdom have been completed on this item, and all British studbooks will be placed on this list of third-country breeding bodies by Jan. 1, 2021.
This list has since been published at the website of the European Commission. This means for Welsh ponies and Cobs registered with the Welsh Pony and Cob Society (WPCS) and provided with a British passport (with the zootechnical certificate Part II attached) can also be transferred from the British studbook WPCS to the main section of the NWPCS in the future. This fortunately provides clarity on this point. You can find the list via this link at ‘United Kingdom’.
Further information
Unfortunately, not all further consequences of the changes are yet clear. The Netherlands has asked questions about this to the European Commission. Also, any consequences depend on the negotiation results of the EU and the UK on their new relationship. There will not be more clarity on the new relationship until the negotiations are completely over.
