Earlier this year, he not only became the first NWPCS Foal Champion of the Month, but is now also the first NWPCS Online Foal Champion of the Year. The Welsh Section A gray stallion Korneweijdes Cassius Clay was placed first by the judges, the NWPCS members, and the online voters alike. Beukenhof’s Dilan was named Reserve Champion in all categories. It’s a Golden Dream finished in third place.
Korneweijdes Cassius Clay has earned not only a rosette handmade by Vivian Hesen, but also a photo shoot by Vivian Hesen Photography. And a spot on the Online Hall of Fame.
Juror Davy Wormgoor
NWPCS judge Davy Wormgoor ranked the five monthly champions in order of quality and provided ‘comments’ on them. “It was a difficult task to rank and evaluate these foals in this way,” says Wormgoor. “Photos are always snapshots, and the quality of the photos and the photographer also play an important role in this.”
Davy Wormgoor: “Based on all the photos we’ve taken, we can say these are high-quality foals, and the following placement has been finalized…”
- Korneweijdes Cassius Clay
A foal with typical conformation and a strong build. It has plenty of bone, width, and depth. It has a beautifully shaped neck and a lovely head. Its trot is fluid, with strong engagement of the hind legs.
- Beukenhofs Dilan
A long-lined foal with a beautiful neck. The head could show a little more expression. The overall impression is somewhat shallow. The trot is spacious and is shown with good self-carriage.
- It's a Golden Dream.
A foal with sufficient conformation. Could use a bit more length overall. A nice head with somewhat long ears. The trot is adequate, with good use of the hind leg.
- Ravelli in Windhoek
A foal with good conformation and a beautiful head. The neck is a bit short and heavy. It could also use a bit more bone. The trot is fluid, with strong hind-leg action.
- Powerplay Emelwerth
A foal with typical conformation and long lines, and a nice hindquarters. Could use more breed character. The trot lacks reach.
