Introducing: Online Foal Champion for May 2020

In the second half of September 2020, you’ll have the chance to vote for your favorite in the 2020 Online Foal Champion contest. The candidates are the Online Foal Champions from April through August. In the coming weeks, we’ll introduce the monthly champions to you one by one. This time, it’s It’s a Golden Dream’s turn, the favorite from May.

Participants were asked to submit three photos of the monthly champion. One of the foal standing, one of the foal in motion and one photo of the foal's head.

During this month, it will be possible for everyone to vote for your favorite for the title through a poll on this website. In addition, NWPCS members may submit their placement of the first three by email. In addition, NWPCS judge Davy Wormgoor will place and comment on the foals.

It’s a Golden Dream

NWPCS Online Foal Champion for May 2020

Breeder and owner Andel Odink says: “This is It’s a Golden Dream; I bred her myself from my mare by Woldhoeve’s Bart. She was born on May 9, 2020; her sire is Leun’s Veld Winston JR, so she falls under the WPBR section. Dreamy is the third offspring of this mare. I bought this mare when she was three from the Hulst family in Staphorst.”

“This mare’s grandmother is also a piebald, so we wanted to try to breed that color back into the line—and we succeeded! Dreamy is a tough mare who isn’t easily fazed.”

“My goal as a breeder is to produce honest, reliable, and friendly ponies for the sport. For the coming year, the mare has been bred to the stallion ‘Hulst Moonlight’.”

“We’re thrilled to have been nominated for the title of ‘2020 Online Foal Champion of the Year.’ We’d like to wish all the other nominees the very best of luck!”
