Is your foal the Online Foal Champion for August? Enter it now!

This year, for the first time, we are holding the NWPCS Online Foal Champion election.

Each month (April through August), an Online Foal Champion is selected through a poll. The Monthly Champions factors that will help secure the title in September 2020 NWPCS Online Foal Champion.

The Online Foal Champions of the Month and those from 2020 will all receive a rosette handmade by Vivian Hesen. In addition, they will be featured in the Online Hall of Fame on the website, and there are even more great prizes up for grabs, such as a gift certificate for NWPCS merchandise.

What are your foal's chances?

• First of all, your foal must have been born in 2020 and be registered with the Welsh Stud Book (NWPCS).
• Before the 18th of the month (April, May, June, July, or August), email us one landscape-oriented* photo of your foal or post it under the relevant post that we publish on Facebook on the first of the month. The foal must be fully visible in the photo (either standing still or in motion) so that voters can properly evaluate it. The photo must be available for publication on our website free of charge, with the photographer’s consent.

* A landscape photo is also known as a landscape-oriented photo. This photo is horizontal and therefore wider than it is tall. We ask for a landscape photo because it looks better on Facebook and the website. In April, so-called ‘portrait’ photos were still allowed, but starting in May, these photos will no longer be nominated.

What happens to the submissions?

A few members of the PR Committee, the (online) editorial team, and the NWPCS Board select up to eight foals per month from the submissions. These foals are featured on the website along with a photo and their details. The selection is made via a poll. In addition, NWPCS members may award extra points to the foals.

The foal with the most votes is the monthly winner, or the NWPCS Online Foal Champion of the Month.

The monthly winner is ineligible to participate in the remaining months. Nominees from that month may participate again, but must resubmit a different photo.

In early September, a new poll will be posted featuring photos of the five Online Foal Champions of the Month. Participants will be asked to submit three photos: a still photo, a photo of the foal in motion, and a headshot (the latter may be a still photo). In addition to the poll, NWPCS members may rank these foals in order of quality. The Online Foal Champion of 2020 will then be selected from among the monthly winners.
