Based on the questions we have received regarding the 2020 Inspection Days, we would like to provide further clarification on a number of issues.

It’s clear that there’s a need for these three inspection days: Registrations got off to a quick start, with dozens of ponies signing up in the very first week. However, we can’t accommodate more than 60 ponies per inspection day, so we urge you not to wait until the last minute to register. Once we’re full, we’re full, and once the above-mentioned numbers are reached, registration for that inspection will close before the set deadline of July 1. After July 1, it will NO LONGER be possible to register.

Each member may bring two ponies per inspection day; a mare with a foal counts as two, regardless of whether one of the two is registered or not. Please pay close attention to this, as it creates a lot of extra work if the information is incorrect.

If more than two animals are registered for a single inspection day, we will contact you to determine whether we can reschedule a pony for a different date and location, or whether we need to cancel a pony’s registration. In that case, the corresponding registration fee will be refunded to you.

Each member may choose their own location; however, each pony may participate in only one evaluation or inspection per year—this rule also applies this year. You can register via ‘My Welsh.’ Please note that before you can register your pony for studbook registration and/or inspection, it must be registered with the NWPCS and be registered in your name. Please check this in advance on mijn.welsh, and if this is not yet the case, you can arrange it through the studbook office. Don’t wait until the last week before the deadline to register, as you may be disappointed if everything cannot be arranged in time for your pony to be eligible to participate.

All rules from the standard inspection regulations remain in effect unless the established protocols—which will have been approved by the safety regions—override them. One of these rules concerns handling: we are not permitted to allow private handlers in the ring; this is a government-mandated requirement from which we cannot deviate. However, we will ensure that we have qualified and professional staff on hand to guide your pony in the ring as effectively as possible. Owners or handlers may present their own ponies. However, we have also arranged for handlers to be present on each inspection day to present your pony. If you wish to make use of this service, you must notify the department where you registered in advance. One standard rule that remains in effect is the requirement to wear white clothing; everyone entering the ring for inspection—including handlers and those accompanying the foals—must be properly dressed in white.

If you have any questions or comments, please contact the inspection team, which will be assisting the departments during these three days via email at bestuur@nwpcs.nl
