How long has Hielke been in your possession?
From his 5th year of life now so 8 years

How did Hielke end up on your path?
We were looking for a good c pony for the riding school lessons and he also had to be gelded for Brent to start driving. We got a tip from acquaintances in the neighborhood that Huub van Geffen might have something for us and so Hielke came our way.

At what point did it become clear that Hielke was very special?
That moment was very soon because the riding school lessons were not a success. Hielke was much too fast for the children and a new riding school pony was bought. Hielke was only used privately and became a real sport pony. His drive to work was in the beginning sometimes difficult to handle and sometimes worked against us but when we got that under control it all went very fast. Now he goes through fire for us, he never lets us down and at competitions he tries even harder.

What are your biggest successes?
NK 2018 single span pony class Z
NK 2018 dressage outdoor class C L2
silver 2019 NK single span pony class Z
World pony driving championship 2019 silver with the Dutch team
5th individual marathon
10th individually
NK 2019/2020 indoor dressage class C Z1

Besides the many successes, Hielke is also just a family pony?
Hielke is a super sweet friendly willing to work good mood beautiful pony with a high cuddliness level. When Brent started driving, sister Margje started riding it in bixie and became the first bixie champion. Margje became too big and niece Mirre started to ride Hielke under saddle. Mirre ended her career with Hielke nicely with a nice NK in the C Z1. Now it is Liv's turn to ride the smallest niece. Recently she started riding Hielke and in the winter she will ride her first competitions.

What is the fondest memory you have of Hielke?
It was very special that Hielke achieved 2 NK's within 1 week and of course the World Championship in Hungary was a very nice experience, with Hielke and the whole family. And just working with him every day remains a pleasure.

Anything else you would like to add or have additionally mentioned?
Hielke will stay with us forever and hopefully we can enjoy each other a lot more together
