Due to crisis measures, there is a lot of uncertainty and questions from members about the upcoming judging season. A frequently asked question is whether there can still be a judging season at all.

The SRP (Sector Council Horses) of which the NWPCS studbook can exercise its influence through the Koepelfokkerij, held discussions yesterday with the Ministry of LNV (Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality) about possibly being able to organize inspections. The proposal from the SRP is to have this take place under strict protocols. A proposal to this effect has been submitted for review.

A decision on this is expected in the course of next week and until then we cannot give you any further information on whether or not the mare inspections will take place.

Chipping of foals

Also with regard to the chipping of foals, by the passport consultants, there are currently no possibilities to have this taken up. Given the urgency of timely chipping of foals between the ages of 6 weeks and 6 months, the SRP is also in discussion with LNV on this issue.

A strict protocol has been drawn up and also submitted to the LNV. We also expect a decision on this next week. As soon as we receive more information about this we will share this with our members via the website.

On behalf of the Main Board, Rhodé van Praat
