In Memoriam: Marinus van Dam

Marinus van Dam passed away on April 2, at the age of 76. Until last year, Marinus had served on the Riding Technique Committee for many years and was active as a judge in the working classes. He judged the saddle and driving classes at regional and national inspections and during the IBOP, and for many years he was also a member of the Performance Jury during the NWR performance test. From the very beginning, Marinus was also closely involved in the organization of the Sport Days—which certainly held a special place in his heart—as well as the Divoza Cup and the Welsh Cup. An extremely amiable person, a true enthusiast and professional, averse to pretension. He was also a man of action, who knew how to get things done and loved doing so, and who had a vast network. Marinus van Dam was always there for everyone. A man we could rely on, someone we could always count on. He meant a great deal to our studbook. We will miss him dearly.
