Elite stallion Breeton Dai died at the age of 26
Breeton Dai
The Welsh Section B studbook stallion Breeton Dai (by Eyarth Rio) passed away at the age of 26 at Lannarth Stud in Great Britain.
Breeton Dai was born on July 1, 1994, in Maasbree. Jos Hillen bred the chestnut stallion out of the Ster-Preferente mare Cuppers Mandy (by Blethni Puck), a daughter of Blacksmith Fanny (by Cawdor Prince Horace). As a three-year-old, he was approved as a studbook stallion at the re-inspection, and in 2006 he became Section B Champion and Overall Day Champion at the central re-inspection. He was also approved in Weser-Ems (Germany).
Breeton Dai was a breed-typical stallion with good movement. He was frequently used for breeding, not only in the Netherlands, but also in Germany and Great Britain, for example.
Many of Breeton Dai’s offspring have done or are doing well at shows and/or in the sport. For example, the Royal Welsh champion Stougjeshoeve Escudo is one of his sons. Escudo’s daughter, Oostdijk’s Dancing Queen, was the national day champion at the CMK in 2018.
Notable Daughters
Elite stallion Breeton Dai has many (multiple) champion offspring both at home and abroad. Some notable inspection daughters registered with the NWPCS include the elite mare Stougjeshoeve Julia and the keur mares Molenhof’s Julia, Stougjeshoeve Dream Girl, Paltshoeve’s Daisy, Nieuw Lindert’s Elsa, Stougjeshoeve Especiale, Spring Star’s Aleah, Linde Hoeve Senstone Dailight, and Dai H.
Approved sons
Many of Breeton Dai’s sons—and even some of his grandsons—have been used as breeding stallions. He sired studbook stallions, licensed stallions, and basic book stallions. His NWPCS-approved sons by Breeton Dai include the sport stallion Lucius, Breeton Cey, Carmana’s Edelboy, Lucas, Alex Dai, Bekveld’s Dave, Willow Tree Glyn, Lucifer, Bekveld’s Ronaldo, Beschenhof Darwin, Kortehoeve’s Laurens, and Woldberg’s Vivaldi.
High-quality breeding stock
Breeton Dai earned his approval under Peter Goumans and subsequently stood as a stud for many years at the Jansen stud farm in Keijenborg. Marcel Jansen leased the stallion out on several occasions. In his final years, Breeton Dai was at Ann and Len Bigley’s Llannarth Stud, where he was not only shown but also sired high-quality offspring.
