IBOP on November 30 at the National Equestrian Center in Ermelo
ibop
The annual IBOP will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2019, at the National Equestrian Center (NHC) in Ermelo. Registration is open through November 12.
If your pony has been designated for the ‘KEUR’ predicate at the Central Inspection, this can be converted to the ‘KROON’ predicate provided that it achieves at least a B grade in the driving or riding test of the IBOP.
You can request the test results and conditions from the studbook office or Download here, however, if you register your pony, you will automatically receive the terms and conditions and the test sheets.
Aptitude Test
The IBOP is an aptitude test for (younger) ponies. A simple test is used to assess the pony’s aptitude for the sport. A pony can take the IBOP under saddle or in harness. If the decision is made to have the pony compete under saddle, it must perform a short dressage test and jump a few obstacles. This jumping test consists of two lines, both of which must be jumped.
If the pony is competing in the carriage driving class, it must complete both a driving test and a skill test. The skill test consists of a course with ten mandatory sections: nine with cones and one made up of obstacles.
Skills Test
A new development is that driving now includes a skills test, and that there will be multiple ponies in the arena during both the dressage and show jumping tests. The latter is intended to create a calmer atmosphere; additionally, during the jumping test, a judge will be in the arena to provide guidance. And after the dressage test, the judges will ask each pair to perform a few additional elements to better assess the basic gaits, willingness to work, and so on.
Ages 3 and up
Of course, all ponies, not only those designated for the ‘KEUR’ predicate, can participate. The minimum age of the ponies is 3 years from October 1 for participation in both the riding and the harnessed test.
