The Welsh stud book, the Welsh Pony and Cob Society (WPCS), has appointed Meirion Davies as its new secretary. The Society promotes the breeding and improvement of Welsh ponies and cobs. It oversees registrations, licensing, transfers, and exports.

WPCS President Brian Foster, President-elect Roger Davies, Chairman Colin Thomas, and the Board are very pleased to announce Meirion as the new secretary.

Meirion Davies

Meirion Davies is originally from Pembrokeshire in West Wales. He now lives near Kidwelly in Carmarthenshire. He joined the Society when he was still a child. “I am very pleased to be joining the Society team and look forward to serving the members and promoting the five sections of our wonderful breed. I also hope to inspire people to become members.”

Worldwide

Davies continues: “The Society has made its mark on Welsh pony enthusiasts worldwide. There are many Welsh pony owners all over the world, ranging from individuals with a single Welsh pony to large Welsh pony breeding farms. This shared interest and dedication ensures the continued promotion of the breed.”

Meirion Davies will assume his new role as secretary in early October.
