‘We achieved everything and what more do you want’
The sale of the approved stallion Shamrock Sea Lion (Shamrock Lord Caernarfon x Shamrocklake The Cool Colonell) may come as a surprise but was a well-considered decision for Thea Tacoma. “We accomplished everything and what more do you want with a stallion like that. We were just ridden out and standing still is also nothing for Sea Lion,” Thea Tacoma said.
Sea Lion is only 10 years old and will now be used as a breeding stallion. And the new owner's 9-year-old daughter is going to continue driving it.
Little was covered with it
“A pony with a beautiful type and good movement is what you want for breeding. Marcel and Albert covered him for two years, but I don't know what happened to his offspring. At the last stallion show there was also a descendant of Sea Lion (Ruja's Sea Biscuit) this one could also move very well.”

Shows and Contests
“Our absolute highlight was the international show, we went there to ride nice but that we ended up being champions was really a big surprise. But also on the driving competitions he always did his very best. With a final result of ZZ with several profit points we can still be very satisfied.”

Future
“Fortunately I have a few young talents at home, in fact I only have stallions. Stallions often have just a bit more zest for work. After you gain their trust you never lose it. With mares it is different.”
Thea also explains how sparingly she treats her ponies. “Teaching ponies young is really not a bad thing but also give them their rest, a week's vacation really doesn't make them dumber.”
