Marijke Hammink wins CAI Lisieux 2019 with Welsh A's
Four-horse racer Marijke Hammink was in France last week (May 1-5, 2019) where she participated in the international driving competition (CAI) in Lisieux. She gave a true calling card. She won all three parts and thus the competition with a whopping 30 points lead.
The Welsh section A ponies BEUKENHOF'S WESLEY, BREUKER'S BOBBY BROWN, KASTANJEHOF PIP, WOHLD NEAL and YSSELVLIEDTS CURLEY MATE were along for the trip to France.
Hammink was very pleased with how her weekend went. “A well organized competition,” she let it be known on Facebook, “all parts won. Pete unfortunately could not participate, for the second time in eight years, and so it was decided early this week that Kastanjehof Pip should take over. He only ran dressage and did this well. Also, he learned a lot this week.”
Joey van der Ham
Joey van der Ham completed the ‘Dutch/Welsh A’ party by finishing second with his Welsh A span MARCUS, GOLDEN BOY, SAM, ELFERINK'S MARCUS and ROTGERS TIMBER.
Rodinde Rutjens
The best Dutch result in the two-horse team was for Rodinde Rutjens with her NWR pair consisting of MAJAN'S SWEN and KUIKHORNSTER MILANO. She was leading after the dressage and marathon, but dropped back to fourth place after the skill.
Nathalie van der Ende placed fifth with Welsh Partbred STERRENHOF'S ROXY in her span and Melanie van der Bunt placed sixth with Welsh A's SUNSTAR'S CALVADOS, TUMTUM and ROTGERS XANDER. In place seven was Cas Hendriks with his section A's JIP, MISTER JIM and SUNSTAR'S CLOUD.
