Steehorst Kyro

The B-class champion, reserve champion, and best yearling at the Lampeter Stallion Show, recently held in Wales, all come from different daughters of Steehorst Kyro. A wonderful tribute to Kyro’s breeder, the late Piet Steeghs, and excellent publicity for Dutch Welsh B breeding!

The three-year-old Heniarth Arietta (by Heniarth Wood-Wind) delighted both her breeders, Meirion Davies and Richard Miller of Heniarth Stud, and her Australian co-owner, Wendy Trimble of Tooravale Stud, by being named Junior Champion and Overall Section B Champion.

Wendy watched Arietta’s triumphant run ‘live’ on Facebook. Heniard Woodwind also won the championship at the Lampeter Show as a yearling.

Seventh generation

The mare is the seventh generation to be shown from a line established by Meirion’s parents, John and Glenys Davies of the Rhoson Stud. Arietta is by Rhoson Anoushka (s. Steehorst Kyro).

The two-year-old stallion Heniarth Derring-Do was named reserve Section B champion for his Swedish owners, Mats and Cecilia Olsson of Kulltorps Stud. Heniarth Wood-Wind is also his sire, and he is out of the half-sister of Arietta’s dam, namely Rhoson Dorti (by Steehorst Kyro).

The best yearling was Heniarth Starletta. She is a daughter of Tooravale Houston (by Weston Manhattan) and the mare Rhoson Siesta (by Steehorst Kyro) and is owned by Melau Stud.

Steehorst Kyro RWAS Champion

Steehorst Kyro was born in 2001 and was crowned junior champion at the Royal Welsh Show in Builth Wells at the age of three. He is now in Australia.
