CAI Exloo: Marijke Hammink takes victory with Welsh A-four pack

Last weekend at CAI2* Exloo, the international pony riders took the first steps toward possible participation in the World Cup at the end of September in Hungary. Welsh ponies managed to secure top places here. For example, Marijke Hammink won in the four-horse team.

In the pony four-horse class, the requisite Welsh ponies competed. Marijke Hammink and Edith Chardon, each with a pair of Welsh A-ponies, put each other to the test. Edith and her greyhounds won the first part, the dressage. Marijke then won the marathon and the skill with her brown A's and took the overall victory.

The best Dutch result, as the class was won by Germany's Louise Hansen. The difference was minimal; Rodinde had only 0.35 penalty points more in the final results.

The Para Equestrian class was won by Francisca den Elzen with Albrecht's Hoeve's Lars (by Orchard Red Prince) ahead of Jacques Poppen with his Arabo-Friesian PP. Den Elzen and Lars won all three sections.
