Nostalgia: Mill Meadow's Eélène on 25th anniversary

From Gerrit and Leny van Beek we received photos from 1984, the year the Welsh Studbook celebrated its 25th anniversary. The photos show Gerrit van Beek and the star, preferent section A mare Molenweide's Eélène.

Gerrit and Leny's were the owners of Molenweide's Eélene (by Ringo) who was bred by Jo Gidding out of the crown mare Gwen Vale Bethan (Coed Coch Cadwr x Revel Pickle). She produced at Van Beek, among others, the studbook stallion Singel's Chip Wip (by Weston Falcon), the crown mare Singel's Morninglight (by Rondeels Matheus) and the star mare Singel's Pinup (by Weston Falcon).

The latter pony was born in the anniversary year of 1984 and is in the above photo with her mother Éelène and breeders Gerrit and Leny. The judges in the background are: Cerdin Jones, Baroness M. von Redwitz, Dr. A. Barneveld, Mr. D.E. Bowen and Mrs. G.F. Larsen.

Jubilee

In 2019 we exist 60 years as a studbook and of course we as NWPCS do not want this to go unnoticed. The anniversary committee is busy preparing and implementing a celebration program. You will certainly notice more of that this year.

The editors are curious to hear your anecdotes, photos and/or newspaper clippings, etc. from 60 years of NWPCS. We will publish the best contributions on our website and/or in the magazine.
