Nostalgia: Saskia ahead in parade at NMK in 1976

For the ‘Nostalgia’ section, we received from ‘Volunteer of the Year‘Theo Tops took two photos at the National Mare Show in 1976 at Park Berg en Bos in Apeldoorn. His Section A mare, Saskia, was crowned youth champion there and was allowed to lead the champions’ parade.”.

The two-year-old gray mare Saskia was crowned youth champion, and Theo Tops was presented with a trophy by the judges: Mr. Bruinsma (chairman), Ms. Teunissen, and Mr. J. Laamers. It was no different back then—inspections are just snapshots in time. A year earlier, Saskia had received a second prize.

Jubilee

In 2019 we exist 60 years as a studbook and of course we as NWPCS do not want this to go unnoticed. The anniversary committee is busy preparing and implementing a celebration program. You will certainly notice more of that this year.

The editorial staff is interested in hearing your stories, seeing your photos and/or newspaper clippings, etc., from the NWPCS’s 60-year history. We will publish the best contributions on our website and/or in the magazine.
