The brand-new Welsh Section B studbook stallion Woldberg’s Rossini was named Overall Day Champion at the conclusion of the two-day Central Stallion Inspection in Ermelo. Defending champion Fronarth Defoe was named Reserve Day Champion.
The six-year-old showstopper Woldberg’s Rossini (Boston Bonaparte x Linde Hoeve’s Sebastiaan) presented himself superbly and displayed powerful, expansive movements with great suppleness. Breeder Kees Morren is delighted. He and Marcel Jansen had already presented the stallion as a three-year-old, but he didn’t make it very far back then. “That was entirely justified,” says Morren. “He had been very sick beforehand and simply wasn’t in good enough shape. In hindsight, we probably shouldn’t have presented him then. Marcel leased Rossini for two years, and it took him nearly two years to get him back to full strength.”
A radiant centerpiece
In October, Rossini returned to his breeder, who then prepared him for the stallion inspection. And at that inspection, Rossini certainly made his presence felt! As the radiant center of attention, the mighty chestnut stallion was crowned king of the 2019 Central Stallion Inspection. “It was an amazing day!” Morren says happily.
The black Welsh Section C stallion Fronarth Defoe (Fronarth Ginola x Fronarth Glyndwr) was named reserve champion.
