The Welsh B studbook stallion Nilantshoeve’s Zippo was crowned champion on Friday, January 18, 2018, at the FN-Bundeshengstschau Sportponys in Berlin. His son, Ankumshof Kensington—also bred in the Netherlands—was named reserve champion.

The now nine-year-old Palomino stallion Nilantshoeve's Zippo (Cadlanvalley Goldstar x Eyarth Harlequin) was bred by Freek Jan and Adrie Aalbers from the keur, preferente mare Steehorst Freeway. He was born in 2010. That same year, he was named foal champion in Eext and placed first at the Central Mare Inspection in Kootwijk.

CHK, two-time champion

In 2013, Jan and Jaron Flier presented Zippo at the Central Stallion Inspection in Ermelo. There, he was registered as a studbook stallion and was also named section champion and reserve champion of the day. A year later, he was once again named section champion in Ermelo.

Before Zippo was sold to his current owners, Norbert and Bettina Büscherhoff in Germany, he also won the section championship title at the Dragon Welsh Pony Show. In addition, he was named Overall Supreme Champion at the international show in Belgium.

In Germany, he continued his winning streak and was crowned FN-Bundessieger last Friday.

Boys at CHK 2019

At the NWPCS, two of Zippo’s sons have been approved as breeding stallions; the six-year-old Section B stallion Henshof Bolero (sire: Woldberg’s Bart) was registered in the stud book as a three-year-old. He was then sold to Dubai fairly quickly. The four-year-old WPBR HSH Kingston (sire: Orchard Red Prince) is expected to appear at the upcoming Central Stallion Inspection for his final registration in the Stud Book.

In addition, three three-year-old sons of Zippo have been entered for the first viewing on Friday, February 8, in Ermelo. They are Mini Hoeve’s Valentijn (sire: Manishof Iwan), Maarlen’s Renzo (sire: Den Bramel’s Rio), and Paralels Anne (sire: Casperhof’s Freddy).
