The NWR studbook stallion Castenraysweg Charmeur (by Vlagberg’s Carway) died on November 23, 2018, at the age of four, as a result of a tragic accident at the farm of his owner, Henk Ebbers, in Ottersum.

The bay Charmeur was bred by H.G.J.M. Kuijpers of Oirlo out of the ster mare Castenrayseweg Hanneke (by Leuns Veld’s Lord). In 2017, the generously built stallion passed his performance test with high scores. Among other things, he received nines for canter and stable behavior and 8.5s for trot, aptitude as a dressage pony, and character.

Offspring

In 2018, his first crop of foals was born, among which Amalia’s Leana (dam: Orchard Boginov) received a first premium at the regional inspection in Sevenum. “Ten foals are expected from Charmeur this year,” said owner Henk Ebbers, who noted that, unfortunately, he does not have any frozen semen from the stallion.

Success in Sports

Charmeur made a successful debut in the sport last year with Nina Donkers. The pair qualified for the Limburg Championships, which are taking place this month.
