On Saturday, Oct. 6, the 2e edition of the Welsh Select Sale & Youngstock Show took place at Manege de Nieuwe Heuvel in Lunteren.
This Welsh pony event is organized by the Welsh Select Sale & Youngstock Show Foundation which consists of an enthusiastic group of volunteers who are themselves active in the Welsh world. With the auction, the foundation offers the opportunity to bring the buyer and seller together.
Youngstock Show
With the Youngstock Show, the event is also a great opportunity to show and view young Welsh ponies up to 3 years old. In addition to conformation judging “in hand,” there will also be use classes under saddle and for carriage. The young Welsh pony enthusiast can compete in such categories as “Young Handlers,” “Leading Rein” and “First Ridden.” The Show begins at 9:00 a.m. and several ponies will compete and be auctioned later. The conformation judging at hand and use sections will be judged by an English judge from the Cascob Stud of Wales.
Welsh Select Sale
The first edition of the 2017 Welsh Select Sale was very successful. Also this year the organization is very satisfied with the collection of ponies submitted for the auction. A very diverse offer. From foal to sport pony and from stud to predicate mares. All 6 different sections Welsh pony (A, B, C, D, NWR and Welsh Partbred) are represented.
Starting in the morning, the 50 auction ponies can be viewed in the stables at Manege de Nieuwe Heuvel.
The auction starts at 1:30 p.m. with auctioneer Marthijs Brouwer serving as auctioneer.
