Performance test NWR and Partbred stallions

July 20, 2018

Last spring, a fine group of NWR stallions was selected for the performance test. Approved Partbred stallions may also participate in this test on a voluntary basis. Last year, we launched a two-year pilot program to gain experience with a new format for the performance test. That first year went well. Last spring, an evaluation was held with the stallions’ owners, the performance test committee, the members of the working group, and the executive board. Partly based on that evaluation, a few adjustments have been made to the structure and organization compared to last year. The most important changes are that an assessment will also be conducted by a guest rider; the total duration of the performance test has been shortened; and the test will take place well in advance of the CHK 2019. This will allow us to make even better decisions regarding the structure of the performance test starting in 2019. A final proposal will be submitted to the Executive Board this fall. They will then make a decision and present it to the Members’ Council. The revised performance test could then take effect as of January 1, 2019.

Key dates at a glance:

  • Assessment Days:
    • Monday, September 24: 1e evaluation day
    • Monday, November 5: 2e  evaluation day
    • Tuesday, November 13: evaluation by a guest rider
  • Exam:
    • Friday, November 30, and Saturday, December 1, 2018

The evaluation days and exam will take place at the KNHS facility in Ermelo. The exact start times will be announced as soon as possible.

This plan has been prepared as thoroughly as possible. We are very confident that this performance study will go smoothly.

Louis Roeters, Member of the NWPCS Executive Board
