Yesterday evening an extra member council meeting was held in Wageningen. On the proposal of the Committee on Confidential Matters, the Members' Council unanimously approved the appointment of Louis Roeters (see accompanying photo) to the position of Head Board Member for Breeding Affairs NWR/WPBR and Sport. According to the confidence committee Louis has a lot of experience and his knowledge and expertise fits the profile well. From the Members' Council we congratulate Louis on his appointment and wish him every success.
With the filling of this vacancy in the main board, there remains 1 vacant position in the main board, namely that of main board member Breeding and Sport. The main board and the members council have decided to extend the closing date for this vacancy until July 1. Another issue raised in the membership council meeting was the allowance of irons in studbook admission. Although there was discussion at the end of 2016 by the Members' Council and then-Chief Board to broaden the current rules, the outcome of this was never incorporated into inspection regulations or question programs. The Members' Council decided to include this point later this year in the broader discussion on the revision of regulations by a working group from within the Members' Council, consisting of Remco Dobber and Peter Wijffelaars. Until then, the current rules will apply.
