3X Honor podium for nwpcs-bred vegeline's goya at ek

The “FEI European Championship for ponies” individual dressage was held in Aarhus, Denmark, last week.

The NWPCS-bred pony “Vegelin's Goya”, bred by Willem van Klaarbergen, finished in third place individually and in the cross-country test with Denmark's Louise Christensen. In doing so, the combination made a major contribution to the silver Team medal for Denmark.

The Danish Princess Mary handed out the medals, Bronze for the Netherlands, Silver for Denmark and Gold for Germany.

Besides Willem van Klaarbergen (proud breeder and secretary of our studbook), Trudi Houwen (portfolio holder Sport) was also present in Aarhus.

Marten Luiten, called up as a reserve for the Netherlands, was unfortunately unable to be in Aarhus in time. For Maten it became a special weekend. Last Saturday, Marten was called into the ring with his Goldwinhoeve's Valerion (by Valerio) at the KNHS-Divoza cup final by the ringmaster as the winner of the four-year-olds with blanket and all. Unfortunately, when the five winners were lined up it turned out there was a mistake in the counting room and Marten came in second. A silver medal. Compliments to Marten how he impressed with conviction in the lap of honor.
