NWPCS ponies were well represented at the DPC selection event in Heerewaarden
During the second qualifying competition of the 2026 Dutch Pony Championship in Heerewaarden, several NWPCS ponies made a strong impression. At the Van Uytert Stallion Station, young dressage ponies from across the country competed in the classes for four-, five-, and six-year-olds. The quality was high and the competition was fierce.
Amalia Pixie VIP Takes Second Place Among the Four-Year-Olds
In the class for four-year-old ponies, the NWPCS stallion Amalia Pixie VIP (studbook name: Amalia Pixie), a son of FS Numero Uno, rode his way to an impressive second place. The pony, bred by Lonneke and Pieter van Laarhoven, impressed with his presence and correct performance. This made him one of the standout performers in a highly competitive class in which several ponies managed to score over 80 points.

Noble Diamond DVB (studbook name: Noble Diamond DVB), a son of Next Diamond and bred by Dressuurstal Van Baalen BV, also represented the NWPCS in this class and contributed to the studbook’s strong showing.

Diamond Style Turhorst Takes Third Place Among the Five-Year-Olds
The NWPCS was also well represented among the five-year-olds. Diamond Style Turhorst (studbook name: Diamond Style), a son of Dating AT and bred by Ingrid Schmidt (Germany), finished in a commendable third place. The stallion delivered a consistent and harmonious performance, allowing him to hold his own in a field where the differences among the top contenders were minimal. According to the judges, the pony presented a balanced performance and impressed with his correct presentation.

Turfhorst Chaplin Claims Victory
The highlight from the NWPCS’s perspective came in the class for six-year-old ponies. Here, the victory went to Turfhorst Chaplin (studbook name: Coelenhage’s Chaplin), a son of Leuns Veld’s Lord and bred by Stal Coelenhage, R. Vrolijken. Under the saddle of Liz Arends, the stallion impressed the judges with his presence, strong topline, and active movement. With a final score of 84 points, he claimed the class and secured a fine victory for the NWPCS in Heerewaarden. The judges praised, among other things, his spacious walk, good transition ability in the canter, and correct presentation.
Promising performance
With a second-place finish among the four-year-olds, a third-place finish among the five-year-olds, and a victory among the six-year-olds, the NWPCS breeders can look back on a successful DPC selection competition. In addition, Noble Diamond DVB’s participation underscored the broad representation of NWPCS ponies at this selection competition. The results once again demonstrate the quality of the dressage ponies bred within the studbook and inspire confidence for the remainder of the DPC season.
