Authorized Body (GI)

The Netherlands Welsh Pony & Cob Studbook (NWPCS) has been designated as the Authorized Body (GI) to perform identification and registration (I&R) tasks for equidae.

In this role, NWPCS performs legal checks, provides registrations and mutations in the database of the Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO) and is authorized to issue and deliver horse passports.

We carry out this work on behalf of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Nature (LVVN), according to applicable European and national regulations.

What does this mean to you?

As an Authorized Body, the NWPCS can support you in all official I&R actions surrounding your pony or horse. This applies to members, non-members, studbooks and chippers/passport consultants.

We ensure careful and accurate processing of all applications.

Our services - briefly explained

Standard passport (I&R passport).

Do you have a horse or foal without a studbook registration? Then you can request a standard passport through us. We arrange everything for you: from chipping and sketching, registration and checking to making and sending the passport.

Import notification

Have you brought a horse from abroad? Then this animal must be registered in the Netherlands. We check the foreign passport and make sure the horse is registered correctly.

Duplicate passport

Has your horse's passport been lost or stolen? Then you can apply for a duplicate. We will arrange the assessment, registration and make sure you receive a new passport.

Change in data (I&R mutation).

Is something incorrect or has something changed, such as color, chip or data? We will adjust this for you in the official registration.

Comprehensive passport through studbook

Are you breeding through a recognized studbook? Then the application goes through the studbook. We do the checking and registration and ensure that the passport reaches you.

Shipping of passports

Is the passport ready? Then we will make sure it is sent to you safely and by registered mail.
