Jumping DPC 2025 promises spectacle in Lathum

September 24, 2025

Now that the dressage final of the Dutch Pony Championship is behind us, the organization is setting its sights on the Jumping DPC, which will be held on Saturday, October 4, at the beautiful accommodation of Hippisch Centrum Lathum.

Learning format: aptitude test in groups

During the finals, the four-, five- and six-year-old jumping ponies take center stage in an educational competition format. The ponies ride in groups of three during the aptitude test, guaranteeing peace of mind and attention for each combination. The judges will judge on canter, technique, power, attitude and suppleness. There is no jump-off or time pressure: it's all about riding correctly and developing the pony's confidence. Each combination also receives targeted feedback to further support the training of the pony.

Looking for the best 4-, 5- and 6-year-old jumping ponies in the Netherlands

Any combination with a 4-, 5- or 6-year-old pony (category C, D or E) registered with a Dutch studbook can apply directly for the DPC apprenticeship test. In addition, there are additional jumping classes for C, D and E ponies, regardless of previous classification. No KNHS starting pass is required for participation, the pony must have a valid passport with valid measurement and vaccinations.

For the top three in each age category there are wonderful prizes to be won, including champion's ribbons, blankets sponsored by main sponsor Hypostore and a breeder's premium totaling € 900 for the breeders of the winning ponies. Additional prize money of € 1000 is also available for the additional classes. Each participant will receive a commemorative ribbon and a photographer will capture the best moments, complemented by a personalized reel for social media if desired.

Expertise in the ring: review by Piet Raijmakers Jr.

The expert assessment is in the hands of international show jumper Piet Raijmakers Jr. who has made a long-term commitment to the DPC to further develop this concept. With his extensive experience at international level, he brings valuable expertise and supports the philosophy of the DPC: training without emphasis on speed, but with focus on quality, attitude and confidence. He will be assisted during the finals by a guest judge with a great track record in show jumping - the name will be announced soon through the DPC channels.

Prestige jumping saddle and Fairness Awards make finals extra special

New this year is that at the talent test for the jumping ponies, an exclusive Prestige jumping saddle will be made available to the combination with the highest daily score. This ultimate crowning achievement adds extra sparkle to the competition.

In addition, Röwer & Rüb also presents the Fairness Award in show jumping. These awards highlight riders who excel in respectful cooperation, sportsmanship and harmony with their pony. It is an honor as an organization to be able to provide these wonderful awards.
