Henriette Fraser-Storm de Grave appointed board member Sports Affairs & Youth at the NWPCS

September 12, 2025

The Council of Members of the Dutch Welsh Pony & Cob Studbook (NWPCS) has unanimously approved the appointment of Henriette (Jet) Fraser-Storm de Grave to the position of Board Member Sports Affairs & Youth. This is a new position in the main board, with which the NWPCS wants to further strengthen the visibility of the Welsh pony in the sport and the involvement of youth.

Jet brings with her a wealth of experience from the equestrian world. Her enthusiasm for the Welsh pony originated in the sport, where for many years she coached young riders and amazons and saw many successes with ponies from different sections. From this enthusiasm she started breeding Welsh ponies herself, with the conviction that young people in the future should be able to continue to have the same enjoyable and successful experiences.

In her motivation, she states:

“The ambition of the NWPCS to further increase the quality of the breeding and use of the Welsh pony fits perfectly with my own motivations. My years of experience in the sport and guiding youth riders have given me valuable insights into what resonates with our target groups. I would like to contribute to the visibility of the Welsh pony in the sport.”

As board member Sports & Youth, Jet will be the link within the board for all sports and youth activities. From this role, she maintains the connection with the sports and youth committees and the Riding Technical Committee. She contributes to the organization of the National Sports Day, the use of Welsh ponies in the IBOP and use sections, and the supervision of the Youth Committee. She also provides sports and youth-oriented input at the Mega Welsh Event.

With this appointment, the NWPCS strengthens the main board with an energetic and connecting director who is committed to a future in which the Welsh pony remains widely visible in both breeding, sport and recreation.

Main Board response:

As the main board, we are very pleased with Jet's appointment. She is a familiar face within the NWPCS and an often seen presence at our events. With her enthusiasm and commitment she gives our association an important impulse. We particularly appreciate her willingness to take on this new role and thus strengthen the board. Her arrival gives us confidence that sport and youth within the NWPCS can continue to grow and become even more visible.
